I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Alchemy this afternoon! The ladies there are so warm and sweet, and nothing but accepting! I have had some terrible cuts and interactions with stylists in this city, and my cut today was by far the most comfortable and enjoyable experience Ive ever had with a hairdressing establishment. The shop is beautiful, the art is chaotic but simple and not overwhelming. Perfect for a neurodiverse and artistic mind! Everything was clean and sanitized, my hairdresser (Im so sorry, Im terrible with names and already forgot!) in an interesting and enjoyable way explained different cutting techniques, how we can work around my ridiculous cowlick, and not only how different shampoos and conditioners work and effect your scalp, but also recommended me a nice conditioner that pairs well with my hair, and didnt try to upsell. She asked many probing questions and made suggestions to ensure Id walk away with the exact cut i wanted. The transparency and honesty as well as the welcoming and accepting atmosphere made getting a haircut a fun event again, and I had full confidence in my stylist as we chatted away, never feeling like I had to constantly check and fuss over her work. My cut is clean and even, even though she amitted she hadnt done my style a bunch of time as of yet. Have confidence, queen, because you did a stellar job! Best cut Ive had in quite a long time. I booked an appointment ahead of time on the spot, as Im most certainly returning.
