Visited 27th May 2022. Myself & my husband had a 2 course meal from the Light Lunch menu.
We got there for 12pm as that’s when it opens, there is ample parking spaces & we got seated straight away in the restaurant area. Waiting on staff were very nice & professional.
For our starters, I had Calamari which was a large portion for a starter, it was tasty although the batter would have been even nicer if it was of a thinner coating on the Calamari. My husband had the Pate, which again was a large portion for a starter, a nice pot of Pate, 3 slices of toast (still warm), 3 portions of butter & a small side salad on the same plate. My husband did enjoy his starter but he says he has had better. We score 4/5 for both starters.
We both had the same main course which was Braised steak with Mash, Peas & Gravy. This was excellent !!! A big portion of everything. The meat was extremely tender, delicate & fell apart when we touched it with our fork & tasted beautiful. The mash was PROPER mash, utterly delicious, tasty peas & the gravy was dark, rich & absolutely lovely. We score 5/5 for the main meal.
For both meals & drinks (1 Latte & 1 ice water) it came to £25 which is a great price especially for the amount of food we got.
All in all we were greeted, seated, served & exited in just under 1 hour which was perfect for us.
When we parked up to go in, there wasn’t any customer vehicles at all, when we left just under an hour later, the car park was full !! Go dead on 12pm to get a table & they do like it when customers book too as it does get busy.
We will definitely go again & recommend the King’s Arms pub/restaurant.
