Tapas More like Crapas. Absolutely shocking. Having read the reviews on Google, which promised an ’excellent meal’ and 4.7 stars, this couldn't have been further from the truth. The food itself was bland, badly prepared, awful value for money and resembled no tapas I've ever eaten before.
Apart from a taster of each dish, we didn't eat any of it. On approaching the chef/owner both he and the lady cooking were acutely defensive, threatening and demanded we paid for an entire meal that we didn’t touch (minus the dish which didn’t reach the table).
When presented with our opinion, the lady said ‘ok, so we'll bring it back and I’ll cook it properly.’ Ermmmm... Clearly she did not see the massive amount of irony in that statement.
She then went on to state that we clearly didn't know what tapas is. We were left aghast at this singularly rude, obnoxious and patronising remark. We previously owned and ran a successful pub/restaurant, so we know EXACTLY what tapas is, looks and tastes like. It is indefensible how rude she was.
The final cherry on top was the sneer the bloke had on his face, coupled with the way he looked me up and down. Threatening No, just laughable. However the sentiment was clearly one set to scare.
We have spoken to local friends and these people appear to be trading on the previous owners good reviews, and who only sold the business to these people a few months ago.
Whatever you do don’t eat here.
