My husband purchased fish from this establishment. When I opened fish at home It was covered in slime and the rotting smell was so strong it filled my house. Rinsing under water didn’t help.
I immediately phoned the business to discuss my situation. After multiple calls and messages left with people and on voicemail, the owner called back… 5 days later.
The owner explained that his employees are not employed to return phone calls or deal with customer complaints and that he had been on holiday. He seemed annoyed that I had called a number of times since my purchase to follow up.
This man spoke with attitude and was very derogatory to me. He said there was nothing he would or could do and stated that he checked the temperature of the fridge and the stock that arrived the day of purchase and everything was perfect… implying he did not believe me. He told me I would need to provide a sample of the fish that he could take back to his supplier and thereafter I might get a resolution. Meaning I would need to drive the 20km back to the shop, hand over the fish, drive another 20km back home and wait for an undefined period of time for an outcome. Did I mention that he was yelling at me by this stage of the phone call All of this for $60 worth of seafood.
When I ended the call after no apology or resolution, I said I would be leaving a google review, he roared with laughter at this and hung up on me.
So this is my review…
Rotten fish. Expensive prices. Very poor customer service. I will never go near this business again and I would urge others to do the same. Go to the Fish Factory. It’s awesome, never had a problem.
