Service provided: Ghosting. I wanted to use a local business and Greenville Glass came highly recommended and not simply because they are the only such business in town. After an incident on 10 March 2021, I needed my windshield replaced. As I drive an older car, before I called my insurance company, I took the car in so they could see it, verify that they could do the work and that the glass was available. We did all of that and I was told they would order the glass, which had a two week lead time. I offered to pay the deductible right then but was told to wait until the glass arrived. I then rang my insurance who approved a replacement and due to the age of the car, told me to take to any shop I wanted for a replacement.
Two weeks passed. No word. I dropped by to pay the deductible and was told that they couldn't find my paperwork and X would call me. Another week. No word. Over the last month, I stopped by two more times, each time told that X would call me. X never did.
I went in again a few days ago and was told that even though they could get the glass and physically do the work, they would not because my insurance company would not pay them enough to do the work. They could not tell me how much the insurance would pay them so I offered to pay for it outright and/or contact my insurance company to verify the amount for they would be reimbursed. Even after this latest revelation, I was told X would call me to discuss it.
It is now 4 May and no, I never did get a call back or an explanation. If you did not want to do the job, you could have easily told me in March or called me (you had my number) so I could get on with it elsewhere.
Unfortunately, I am unable to comment on the quality of the work since I could not get them to do any work for me.
UPDATE: My insurance approved a replacement ordered directly from Mercedes Classic and Safelite AutoGlass in Montgomery were very helpful in facilitating ordering the glass, checking with MB Classic to ensure they ordered the correct windscreen. At no point did either company express a disinclination to perform the service. The glass is scheduled to be installed on May 13th, just over two months since I first put in the claim.
