I was in the shop yesterday when a couple came in who looked pretty cold and didn’t have much on them to keep warm outside. I could tell by the ladies face, she had no clue how she was going to go about getting some warm clothes. I was going to approach the volunteer and tell them to each get a warm coat and scarf and mitts and a hat and I would pay. Before I had a chance to approach her, she was already speaking to the couple. She advised them to grab whatever they needed and just to ensure that they done to counter so she could remove tags and account for merchandise. I WILL NEVER TAKE ANY OF MY DONATIONS TO ANY OTHER PLACE AFTER WITNESSING THIS!!! I have noticed at other thrift stores in the area, they are setting up sections for name brand donations and are pricing them extremely high. There is no way anybody on a low income could begin to afford these donations. Personally when I donate, I’m looking to help someone who really needs it. Not to make a large company profit. Yesterday really opened my eyes to a little store w a big heart who is in it for the ppl not the money!
