Melbourne was a vibrant city, but no now, although it has been voted several times as the most liveable city in the world.
For more than one year, I have not been to Melbourne due to COVID-19. I make this special trip to support a local restaurant.
After alighting from the train at the Flinders Street Station, and riding the escalator to the concourse, my heart sank to its lowest. It was empty. As I exited from the station, I felt no better. The Melbourne I grew up to love is no busier than a ghost city.
I have never seen Melbourne so quiet during the busy hours of the day, since the Christmas Day of 1970, the year I arrived in Melbourne.
