Had a terrible experience tonight! Had to wait nearly 40 minutes for two lots of sausage and chips and two pieces of Cod. Many customers came and went in the meantime, seems as though if they don’t know your name then you are not a valued customer. I was told when they asked me what I was waiting for that my order had been binned twice, Once because someone else had collected it by mistake and once because the order was called and I failed to collect it. Even though I was sat there the entire time. Finally the three members of staff that seem to know as much about customer service as they do about effectively running a chip shop then started to discuss their failures wit the “regular customers” blaming it on me. In the first instance the woman that allegedly collected my order by mistake had left the shop before I had even arrived to place my order, and as for the second time they supposedly threw it away because I failed to claim it after they had called the order ready, This is a lie. I was sat there attentively waiting the whole time. In the end they handed the order to an interfering customer who sarcastically passed me the order. By this point I was made a mockery by the incompetent team so I left. I WILL NEVER FREQUENT THIS PLACE AGAIN. So my advice is if you are looking for a decent chip shop in the area go to Banwell. There are amazing! Food and customer service far exceed Winscombe, I will travel the extra two miles from now on.
