Unprofessional, inconsiderate and rude.
I was literally told that nobody has the time or energy to follow up on my blood tests.
I had a referral from an endocrinologist to have some blood tests done and it was addressed to a GP. I called the surgery and asked if they performed such tests. I was told that they did, so I booked my appointment. I got my results but when I got home I realized that not all the results were there. I was not sure if it wasn't printed, if it was pending or maybe simply not requested at all. I called the practice to find out, they could not tell me anything and they said they would call me back, which they didn't. I called them again and I was told that I only paid little and I went the cheap way so this is what I get. I was made feel like I was abusing the system by having my blood test done there and I should have gone to a private hospital instead. I was told that "nobody has the time or energy to chase it" and that I should call the hospital where the tests were performed. I called them but they said they would not give me any information and my GP should call. I called the practice again but they refused to do anything about it. I was left feeling like they were doing me a favour and this was only best effort. Even if that was the case, I was not informed about it when I was booking my appointment. I am a foreigner so I asked my Irish friends if this was normal, and they told me that it was not. I feel uncomfortable and uneasy that there is possibly a medical information about my health that I do not have the access to. Additionally, the tests I needed to do can only be done once a month, so I need to wait until I can do them again, which delays my diagnosis.
My experience with this practice is that they do not care about their patients and they treat them as a problem that they should get rid of as soon as possible. I hope I never have to interact with the practice again.
Please note that my interactions were mostly with the reception, so this review is based on that. The nurse who was taking my blood was lovely and friendly.
