I discovered Bensons on Martin on Living Social, where they have a fantastic deal of any 2 Breakfasts + Coffee/Tea for $22.
We immediately rang to book a table and went to check it out.
For a Saturday afternoon, it wasn’t busy, as it was after the lunch rush and it was insanely hot outside.
We decided to sit outside (next time we’ll bring our Dalmatian as it’s a puppy-friendly café) without seeing how fantastic the interior was or that it has a courtyard too.
We got a couple of coffees, 2 x Big Breakfasts, a bowl of Chips, and a Strawberry Milkshake.
Everything arrived promptly.
The coffee was great - nice & strong - exactly how I like it.
The Big Breakfast was presented beautifully and it was superb. It has 2 pieces of toast (the bread is delicious), Pork Sausage (this was the star of the dish for me - lean, tasty, cooked beautifully...), a couple of perfectly-Poached Eggs, Sautéed Mushrooms (my partner had twice as many on his plate - it got me a bit jelly), a Grilled Tomato, and the tastiest Bacon, which was nice and crispy. At $21, this is 10/10!!
The Chips was exactly how we ordered it - we’ll-done - golden and crispy.
My partner wasn’t impressed with the milkshake, but I don’t drink milkshakes, so I wouldn’t know what his issue was...
The service was great - both people, who came to our table (the Manager and a very lovely girl) were fantastic!
When I went to use the washroom, I was surprised how big the place actually is - it’s really nice inside and they have a great selection of wines too!
We will be back - with or without a voucher, Bensons on Martin offers fantastic value and is a true gem!
