I like this place a lot. You can dine inside, under cover on the patio or outside and they have finally added a new pergola to help shade diners from the hot sun in their outdoor area. The service can be a bit patchy because there seems to be new people serving all the time, but that is a minor issue. The menu is contemporary Australian and they have an all day breakfast. They are also licenced for alcohol.
The reason I love it is because the food is brilliant, the servings are generous and the prices really reasonable. The setting is pleasant outside too, overlooking the Hunter River.
Lavenders is a great dining out spot in central Maitland, but it is also very popular, so get in early or make a booking, especially for weekend brunch and lunch.
