Hosts were very welcoming. Food was great. Location was walking distance to the train station. We were there during the two hottest days of July and while there is no air conditioning, the window fan kept us cool. The Elleray had great outdoor seating as well as good indoor seating for meals as well. I would definitely stay again if in the Lake District again. And the Lake District is pretty great.

Just returned from 2 nights at The Elleray and what a lovely stay we had! Clean, central, welcoming, warm and beautiful food and breakfasts; what more can you need? Special shout-out to Caz who doesn’t seem to ever stop, but always has such a warm smile and welcoming presence! Seriously impressed; and even if you don’t stay, please visit the gorgeous little beer garden, fab range of drinks and lovely food! Will be returning even if it’s just for a pub visit!

Caz and Tom are such warm, gracious hosts! The Elleray was home away from home... I loved every second of staying there. It's the little things that really make all the difference.. and Caz is wonderful at taking care of everything. They've managed to create a beautiful atmosphere. From the bedrooms to the drawing room and the loos, every nook and corner is embellished with love and hospitality. Thank you for making my stay so special. Can't wait to go back.
