Stopped off on the way home after being in Carlisle for some shopping. Had the mother in law in tow as well. At 93 she is not particularly mobile and her appetite is not what it was. Having walked in and immediately we were taken straight away to a table. Ordered two pensioners fish specials & one scampi pensioners special - each meal basically £10. The tenner included bread & butter and a pot of tea. So for just shy of £30 a terrific meal. Really hot and sufficient to be satisfying without making you feel stuffed. The outlaw wolfed her scampi down leaving a few peas and a couple of chips. Normally she leaves quite a lot but not this evening - almost unheard of. She really enjoyed her meal. The fish was beautifully cooked and everything about the meal was terrific. Prompt and friendly service as well as excellent cooking. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Thoroughly recommend this place/plaice
